Chase is a specially trained assassin (and so much more) for protecting the freedom and democracy of the U.S.; he’s not CIA or FBI, because they have “too many rules to follow”. (Really?) Anyway, Chase is in love with Russian SVR Agent Anya, and she has defected to be with him. Chase lives on a yacht which she blew up to save their lives. Now he has a new 50 foot Catamaran. This is where the sea adventure comes in. Chase and Anya are helping a friend of his by sailing to the Florida Keys to find their missing 19-year-old daughter, Skipper.Spy 🕵️‍♂️ Chase does not have as much experience as spy 🕵️‍♀️ Anya, so he makes some rookie mistakes. These mistakes have grave consequences which I would call huge surprises! Again, a complex, masterfully imaginative, and suspenseful read! The tutorial on sailing a catamaran is actually understandable and interesting. Lots of “nautical knowledge” is related. Book 3 appears to be set up at the end, but this is not a cliffhanger and it does stand alone well. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!

Cap Daniels, a new author emerging with two hits and leaving you anxiously waiting for his next book! What more can you say?But there is more. Cap continues building his main character, Chase Fulton, in the series providing a foundation for future exploits. Not to spoil your enjoyment he does toy with the readers emotion early and winds it up neatly at the end.....but does leave the door open for you to learn more.Daniels does a good job with a quick review in this second installment to bring a first time reader up to speed. However, I urge you not to skip his first book, “ The Opening Chase “, as there he provides a good enjoyable read while providing real depth in background and basis for the series.Cap Daniels joins writers such as Wayne Stinnett, Dawn Lee McKenna and others who through this media bring quality exciting books for us to read with value and affordability. I have enjoyed his first two books and the test for me is do I look forward and anticipate the arrival of an authors next book. I finished his first book and immediately read this one and look forward to the next one. Enough said!

Finished this second Cap Daniels book at 5 am...I could NOT stop reading! Another really good story and another shocking surprise. This book picks up right where "Opening Chase" ended and there was lots of adventure and excitement between the pages. Again, a Covert Operator with several "errands" to handle and lots of "bad actors" to be taken down! And we get to meet more people I hope will be helping Chase in the future. I'm not sure where the author comes up with these stories...but I sure hope he's got lots of time to get them written as I can hardly wait for the next installment of Chase Fulton's Adventures.

In this second installment of Chase's story, he must find a way to bring a dear friend to safety, while suffering a crushing loss in the process. I found myself holding my breath, sensing what is coming, wishing it wouldn't, yet shocked still when it did. Cap is building a great series and I am in it for the long haul. I thought that I had previously reviewed this, but apparently life got in the way or I just can't find it among all of the other 5-Stars! I have read ALL of Cap Daniels books and am now anxiously awaiting #5.

You must read this book! Better yet, read “The Broken Chase” AFTER you read “The Opening Chase”!Cap Daniels chisels an intricate story, paints an amazing picture, breathes life into his characters, leads you into deep waters, allows you to briefly come up for air, and articulately delivers another book that leaves you hungering for more!Brilliantly written! You will not be able to out-think this author. His mastermind skills will have you in awe of the plot twists. Just when you think you know what is next – you don’t. The finite details of expansive topics are delivered with just the right amount of technicality, but still an easy read. Perfectly edited!I am hooked on the well-crafted characters and this enthralling story filled with suspense, action, intrigue, and adventure. Absolutely enjoying “The Chase Fulton Series” and look forward to the next one. I highly recommend Cap Daniels’ books to anyone that wants to experience life at a different level!

After reading the first book, I almost passed on the rest of the series. The tremendous reviews made me buy book 2. I did find it better than number 1 by a wide margin. The author is either maturing or the story line just congealed to allow a tighter plot line. Where the first book strained even my sense of disbelief, the second goes forward in a relative straight line, with much more believable fact pattern. Definitely buying no 3.

Wow! Action novels don't come better than this second book by Cap Daniels. I wouldn't begin to tell readers the twists and turns in this captivating novel...just that there are so many. The storyline continues on from Book One, and I highly recommend that that is where one should start. As for me....I can hardly wait for Book Three in the series.

I'm not a literary critic, but I know when I like a book. This book by Cap Daniels is one of those types of books. I was enthralled by the story, so much so that I was disappointed that it ended when it did. I hurriedly obtained his next installment to pick up where this book left off. I have not been disappointed in his writings.

CJP has written of a young officer who resigns from the army because he will not shoot innocent women and children even if theory are Indian. He rescues a white woman and saves her from the Sioux. They travel from western Nebraska to Cheyenne with difficulties all the way. They arrive in Cheyenne and the lady goes to Oregon and the man to his brothers ranch north of Cheyenne. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER.

Although this book is a great read as all the books byC J Petit I would suggest he get a very good proof reader as this book had more mistakes than any of the others but I did not let it deter my enjoyment of the story. I was surprised that Bessie just disappeared after her death with no mention of a funeral or burial. The same with the disgusting brother but that could be overlooked because he was a horrible man. Having read all of the authors books I would suggest more change in food selections when dining as it seems the desert selection is always the same...:) keep writing as mr Petit’s books are the best value on Amazon for light western reading!!!

It isn't very often I "straddle the fence" with regard to scoring a book review. However , this is one of those times. The author repeatedly goes into great descriptive depth regarding the body's response to being shot with guns. How it enters the body, the obliteration of the organs and the destruction left. The author continually uses the same adjectives over and over again to describe affectionately the names for the spouses. The storyline itself was great, but the descriptive nature of the violence makes me unsure if I want to read another book from this author.

Although there is action and a good story, it is mundane. Much of what is written seems to be nothing more than a boring attempt at meeting a quota to make the book longer than it needed to be. I'm glad this was not the first Petit book I read. If it had been, it would have been the last.

This is one of greatest authors I have read in over 65 years, right up there with LaMour, Zane Grey and Max Brand!! I was so impressed I went back and reread it in its entirety, some thin I've never done before, rereading a story I man. I am going to order ever book wiritten by C J Peti!!!

I am a great fan of the western genre. This one had a bit of a different spin and held my attention. Read in two sessions. Will check into other books by C. j. Petit. Hope they are as original as this one. Good job.

The story had a great base, but it was dragged out and topics repeated to often. I like all the details of the story, but it gives me a feeling of the writer is pushing pages to meet is quota deadline. I am following this writer, the early books give me more depth and history understanding. c. j. petit, your still a great story teller. Rapid

The book title caused my hesitation to read what turned out to be an interesting story, though similar to other books by this author. One man able to kill so many others with such ease, seemed troublesome to this reader. Good read overall.
