 For anyone who's just starting out drawing manga style, this book provides useful information on colouring.Different colouring tools are introduced. Each are explained on their characteristics and tips on using them.The featured artists in this series are Saya Iwasaki, Hiroki Mafuyu, Ayumi Kasai, Hamlet Okinawa, Renji Murata, Kim Jyung-Tae and Houden Eizo. These artists goes through tips on their colouring process with their tools: markers, coloured ink, water colour, acrylic paint and digital colouring. These are step by step tutorials with detailed captions.Additionally, there are Q&A interviews with some of the artists.Right at the end is a gallery containing illustrations created from a variety of medium. These are from other manga artists.This book is a great book for beginners. Awesome a technique building book and hints :) not so good for beginners but great for those wanting to brush up on their style :) and knowledge . Great for the price I bought it used ! It came in sooo super new looking in great condition and came on time :)

Finally, a really good tutorial/art book on manga and copic art in English! Lately, some of the best looking copic tutorial books are in Japanese. And, yes, I understand Copic markers are Japanese in origin and make. But still, it would be nice if they would publish those tutorial books in English so we can read them too. There are many English spearkers who want good books to teach them to use Copics and other mediums and it sucks when all the best books are only in Japanese. Has some good tips and tutorials for using Copics and layering and such and also explains other mediums and gives pros and cons as well as section of varied art submissions from all over the world, so is like half Tutorial, half Art book. One of the better ones with lots of color pictures. A worthy buy if you want to know more about using popular mediums and also get to see some examples of different work using those mediums.

In my opinion, I love this book because it gives an artist plenty of time to develop his/her own manga style while looking at how other people color.While I'm more familiar with concept art and illustrations; not so much on the manga side, I was excited to see that I did recognize a few artists in the book (Houden Eizou, Renji Murata, and even Hyung Tae Kim).The book encompasses a large variety of ways to color manga, so if you're looking for a way to draw or lay down more specific details, I don't think this is the correct book for you (unless you'd like some really awesome references to look at, which this book does provide). It gives more of examples and art pieces to look at than an actual process or thing for you to go through. What I think is the main idea is to give you some space, make your own work, and learn how to color your work while observing others' artwork (thus the "Hot New Talent" section).While it doesn't actually provide much instruction on the painting process or anything, it does give you an idea how several kinds of colors work. This includes markers to watercolors to acrylics and even pigments. I'm sure that I'll be really excited to try out coloring my traditional manga-style works now, since it tells you exactly what is better for mixing, drying, or being transparent.Really recommend this to any manga-fan or artist who'd like to see the "behind the scenes" for those manga artists and maybe read how their thought process goes.

This book does do a nice job of talking about paints vs markers and gives some techniques on how to use them but about half of the book is a gallery which is beautiful but not expected in a "tools and techniques" book. There is plenty of beautiful manga on the Internet to look at for free... I was hoping for more instruction and less gallery.

For the title of my review...I believe it helps to know who this is good for. This is based soley on my own personal view of my ability, so that you may gauge it for yourself.I am a self taught artist and believe I need no further skill development in many areas of artistic creation. That said, Comickers Art is a great book and worth the money I paid for it.This book covers the basics of many materials, styles, procedures and methods. It is great information for those who already have a good foundation in artistic talent but are always on the lookout to learn the ways of others in hopes of being more efficient, or just learning new ways.Comickers Art books are for refining skills and knowledge and is not meant to teach you how to draw. These books showcase beautiful and genuine artwork and talent from the east.

It's a decent book for those starting in drawing anime/manga. What I enjoyed was the the variation of artist and art styles that I don't usually see in other books like these.

I was very excited to get this book, hoping to learn to color better. However the instructions were pretty useless considering how bad the translation was... I can only guess from the picture what the artist is doing..... this is quite frustrating... very.... The only redeeming quality is the beautiful artworks contained in these pages. My advice is - if you're seriously trying to learn to color don't get this book, or if you can decipher the cryptic english get it! I really wish I know Japanese! >sigh<

It has nice printing of all the works bot is not actualy TEACHING something, good to look at, but not quite what I was looking for, I wanted more intructions, tecnical knowlage, not just looking at the nice work someone else acomplished.It gives a good advice on what to buy do... unusual material and popular one in the artistic medium.

Let me preface this by saying that I like Rick Gualtieri's writing. The Tome of Bill was awesome. This series just seems like he is trying to hard to make the main character edgy and cool, and instead he made her whiny and boring. The supporting characters don't really add to the story either, instead they hint at something good, and then fall flat. There should have been more time given to the development of the relationship between the mom and dad, instead it felt rushed. Sorry. I wanted to like this. I really did.

I gotta say, I wasn't a total fan. This book was written well ala Rick Gualtieri style but his main character was a bit too much for me. She was way overboard on smashing and beating and attitude. I know, she's a new type of supe, but even the strongest, toughest woman has a touch of femininity. I love Ricks books but Get Bent just bent me the wrong way. Still a decent read, would recommend it.

A workable initial book in a pretty much open ended series. A 19 year old college student home on break finds out that neither she nor the surrounding world are what she thought they were. A period of growth, danger, and temporary solutions.A bit of humor, but probably less than follow on books that aren't as concerned with initial character and world building.At times it appeared the MC acted out of character, acting more impulsive and less intelligent to set up action sequences. I would hope that the MC grows in intelligence, and is a bit less reactive and belligerent. Of course, some of that growth should be with her parents, especially her mother who comes off as too aloof.There's a lot of material for future stories. It will be interesting to see if what the blood sacrifice brought back interacts in the future.

The story depends far too much on people -- especially the main character's parents --withholding information that it would obviously be important for the main character to know, to the point where they endanger their own daughter's life for no reason and cost the lives of many people they should care about.The book doesn't seem to be intentionally presenting the parents as idiots, but them being criminally dumb and irresponsible is the most charitable explanation for their behavior.Also, "there is this ancient prohibition which none of us can explain, but to which both warring sides are totally committed" is a lazy trope. There may be a more reasonable explanation, but as I have indicated, none of the knowledgeable characters are very big on sharing their knowledge.The main character herself is a little much. She's a little too perfect.

I really liked this book. In fact, it is 'almost' my favorite book of the author's so far. The story was good, and kept me engaged the whole time. My only issue was the whole, 'let's do the polar opposite of what everybody in the know is telling me to do, so I can come close to dying again'. I know it was to push the story forward and establish Bent's character, but...Either way, I still highly recommend checking it out. It was a good story that I had a hard time putting down.

Get Bent while having some trappings of typical Fantasy/Horror/Romance/Bormance, etc. Get Bent is a well plotted out beginning to the hopefully long running new series about a female hero who is not just a 2 dimensional representation of a Buffy wannabe.Rick takes his time to build a world here and an intro story to explain just enough to keep us on the edge of our seats. The other characters feel like they have more purpose than just to be there to support Tamara Bent, our heroine.

The author of The Tome of Bill has ventured into werewolf territory with Get Bent! So, Bent is Tamara, a regular snarky college student who suddenly finds out that her family has more to it than meets the eye. Chaos and Gualtieri's signature humor finds its way into the story, and frankly, I want more! As expected, a few twists that you won't find in other paranormal books.

Get Bent! was a combination of quirky and interesting. Bent was an unusual, strong character and I loved this story line. The beauty in this book is the great job the writer did in developing the secondary characters which were pivotal to Bent's motivations. Well done.

I should begin by writing that this e-book is a great value. When comparing to its contemporaries, the price of $8 for a college level textbook is ridiculous. It is comprehensive and updated, even if low with clinical examples. However, with the outstanding resolution of modern tablet screens (retina display, for example) the quality of the figures and tables is not optimal, particular when enlarged. I understand that these were designed to allow rapid download and to reduce file sizes, but the study of sciences, immunology particularly, is considerably aided by high-grade illustrative figures (compare for example to those published in the Abbas and Kuby textbooks) of good quality and accuracy. The schematic presentations, for example of lymph node, spleen or thymus structures are borderline abstract.

This certainly doesn't substitute for a full and comprehensive stand-alone textbook, but it is a very good "on-the-go" app to have handy if you are in a medical field that needs access to the information. Well-written and has good graphics.

A very thorough intro to immunology. And an excellent buy. I recommend this to anyone, not just med students, who want to understand how the immune system works. It's thorough but you don't have to be a biology wiz to understand it.

This book is a great refresher for those considering crossing from the veterinary profession into human medicine, diagnostic lab techs or anyone looking to boost (or refresh) their knowledge on immunology. A great reference for registered nurses or licensed veterinary technicians who spend most of their time with clients explaining the 'hows' and 'whys' of the body's immune system from vaccination protocols to problems with autoimmune disorders and everything in between. This book assumes you have some basic knowledge of medicine - at the very least, biology basics at the cellular level. It is an 'undergraduate' book as it states so it is not as heavy a read as some of the major medical textbooks. I have a copy for my Kindle Paperwhite. The figures and illustrations would be much more enjoyable on a color Kindle and the actual book itself would be worth having in my reference library but overall, I am happy with my purchase. This book is a great book for homeschoolers considering pre-med since it compliments biology and anatomy and physiology courses. Considering the information contained in this book and the price of even used textbooks these days, the kindle price was almost a steal.

Chapter 1GET YOUR HANDS IN SHAPEI started out to be a sex fiend, but I couldn't pass the physical. —ROBERT MITCHUMFirst things first: Let's get your hands ready for all the excitement. Put a little effort into honing and toning their talents before you hit the sheets and you will be like a sports star who has taken care to train before stepping into the ring. If you want to be able to keep the pleasure going long into the night, then the solution is simple: Your hands need a little exercise.   Consider this chapter a personal training program for your hands. These miniworkouts (which are used by sexological bodyworkers and massage therapists) will make your hands stronger, faster, more flexible, and even more fine-tuned to feeling subtle sensations than ever before. What's more, they take only a few minutes to do and don't require a gym membership-any old place from your living room to your car is fine. For optimal fitness, each exercise should be performed at least once a day for one to two weeks to bring your musculature and sensitivity up to speed; after that, you can do them once per week to maintain your hands' pleasure-inducing performance levels.   While having to worry about getting yet one more body part into shape may seem like a drag, think of it this way: It's all for the pursuit of pleasure. What endeavor could be more worthwhile? Once you see the results, you'll be very glad you did these drills.FOR STRENGTH   Exercise #1: Play Ball   Get a tennis ball, racquetball, or buy one of those squishy "stress balls" you often see strategically placed near the register at drugstores (no doubt to alleviate the mounting tension that comes from waiting for a prescription refill). Close your hand around your ball of choice and squeeze as hard as you can for three seconds, then relax. Repeat at least ten times. This will strengthen the muscles in your palm and fingers, helping you to knead your partner for a sustained session without wimping out.   Exercise #2: Towel Twister   This exercise will strengthen your wrists. Holding an end of a hand towel in each hand, twist the towel as much as you can, as if you were wringing water out of it. Hold for five seconds, then reverse directions. Repeat ten times.   Exercise #3: The Upper Body Booster   This exercise will increase overall upper body strength. Keeping your legs straight, bend over and place your palms on the floor so your body forms an upside-down V (if you have ever taken a yoga class, you may recognize this pose as the Downward Dog). Lean your weight onto your palms and press them into the floor, making sure to spread your fingers as wide as possible. Hold for ten seconds; repeat five times.   FOR FLEXIBILITYExercise #4: The Finger Stretcher   This exercise will stretch the muscles in each finger individually, as well as the corresponding tendons running down into the wrist. Holding one hand out in front of you, palm facing forward as if to say "stop" to oncoming traffic, grab its thumb with your other hand and pull it back for a second, then release. Then pull back your index finger, then your middle finger, and so on. Then switch hands.Exercise #5: The Rubber Wrist   Pull your thumb down toward the inside of your wrist and hold for a count of ten. Then grab your four fingers and pull them back toward the top of your wrist for the same amount of time. Respectively this will stretch the top and bottom of your wrist for more all-around flexibility. Perform each stretch twice.   Exercise #6: The Forearm Flexor   Get down on all fours; the fingertips in both hands should naturally point forward. Rotate one of your wrists inward so your fingers are pointing back toward your feet. Then slowly lower your butt toward the floor; this will stretch the underside of the forearm you just rotated. Switch hands-and once you pull that off, try doing both hands together. Perform each stretch twice.   FOR DEXTERITYExercise #7: Don't Follow the Leader   Except for your thumb, whose raison d'être is to do its own thing (thus the term "opposable thumb"), the rest of your fingers prefer to stick together: If one moves, they all want to move with it. This   follow-the-leader tendency can be a problem when you try to do certain techniques we teach that require a high level of dexterity, and that's where this exercise can help by forcing your fingers to break apart from the pack.   Here's how to do it: Gently rest your hand palm down on a tabletop. Lift your index finger one inch off the surface, then let it fall back to the table. Repeat ten times, then do the same thing with your middle, fourth, and fifth digits. Your ring finger, you'll find, is the weakest of the bunch. But over time all your fingers should improve.   Exercise #8: The Coin Flip   This exercise will also increase your dexterity, but be warned: It takes practice. That said, those who master this move will have a pretty cool party trick up their sleeve to impress random strangers. Extend your hand palm up, place a quarter on your index finger and then flip it onto your middle finger, then flip it onto your fourth finger, then your fifth, then send the coin back the way it came. Once you have mastered this move, try it on the knuckle side of your fingers instead.   FOR SENSITIVITY   Exercise #9: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow   For this exercise you'll need a book, ideally one with really thin paper (a telephone book is ideal), and a long strand of hair. Open the book and place the hair on the center of any page; then carefully flip a page so it's covering the hair.   While you probably have a decent idea of where the hair is hiding underneath that page, pretend you don't-and force your finger to find it. Gently run your index finger across the page, feeling for the hair. Once you find it, flip a second page on top and see if you can still feel where the hair is. Continue adding pages until you can't feel the hair anymore. Then repeat the exercise with your middle finger, fourth finger, and pinky. The next time you try this exercise, push yourself to find the hair by adding even more pages. This technique will improve your "palpation skills"-aka the ability to pick up on very subtle sensations.   Exercise #10: The Balloon Press   This exercise will improve your ability to feel subtle differences in pressure, so that you can avoid pushing muscles in your partner's body past his or her comfort zone. Inflate a balloon, then slowly sink your fingertips into it. The surface should give pretty easily at first, less so as you press deeper. At some point you should feel the sensation shift from your bending the balloon's surface to stretching it. This change also occurs if you press your fingers into any muscle in the body (including those in the vagina and anus). At first the area will give easily, but if you keep going there will come a point at which you feel like you're stretching it-and since that can be painful, it's best if you don't cross that line. Practice on the balloon and you'll soon be able to pinpoint the difference.   Exercise #11: Armed and Ready   Once you have mastered the hair-in-the-phone-book and balloon workouts we think you're ready to try out one final exercise on the human body-either yours or your partner's. To start out, get your hand hovering a couple of inches over your (or your partner's) forearm, close enough so that you can feel the warmth emanating from the arm. Then, moving at a snail's pace, slowly close in so you can feel the arm hairs. Then close in further so you can feel the skin, then deeper until you feel the layer between skin and muscle, then even deeper until you can feel the muscle, then the bone. Then, just as slowly, loosen your grip and reverse your way back to your starting position, feeling for each layer as you go. Do this exercise slowly and it will hone your sensitivity in a whole new way.

I found the tone to be a bit quirky and upbeat, but I suppose when you're writing a book on sex with your husband and fellow sexological bodyworker it sounds less strange and is probably how most sex books are written. It has good techniques for massages, tips on using your hands, and a number of fun tricks for both him and her. The directions are clear, easy, and occasionally illustrated.Many people talk about how sex books never contain new information or have only variations on a few moves. Frankly, you only have so many sensitive areas and so many tools to work with. When people use the phrase 'spice things up' it means more than to make things 'hotter' it means adding a sparing sprinkle of variety. If you go over every trick in the book all the time you never will fully appreciate any of them.

I've been married for over 25 years and read this book thinking it was going to no big deal...I mean, how much more is there to "it". I was so wrong! What used to be more of a chore has turned into A LOT of fun! Very easy to read, the author communicates well and was very professional with how some us might feel about doing certain things...and had me laughing many times throughout the book. Needless to say.....we have been one very happy couple lately!

This book was VERY informative for both men and women and having been married for over 20 years, I would recommend it for those who want to keep the romance going in a long-term relationship as well as for those just starting out. LOTS of info in this book that I didn't know about (such as different kinds of massage oils and which kinds of oils can cause infections or not--something every woman would want to know at the very least). Book was as advertised and thought it was well worth the price.

This book is really very well done. The guidance is practical and nicely explained. I would give this 5 stars if it had pictures of hand placement or technique as described when massaging areas like the back, the thighs, or hamstrings. But thats because I do think a visual can be wasily memorized as well. Other than that this book is a great reference for massage and how to get your mate a little heated in the right way!

This book lives up to its name. It is an enjoyable read. The information it contains is presented in such a fashion that it is easy to follow by both novice and experienced lovers. The techniques presented resulted in some incredible orgasims for me and allowed my somewhat shy partner to develop his skills and increase his confidance.

The information is good, but it suffers from a very detached clinical writing style that is hard to stay with for long periods of time.

My husband suggested we each read this. It was a great idea. This is erotic just to read. Lots of fun stuff to try. Definitely spiced up our sex life- after 28 years together. some new moves were very well received!

I had trouble liking Diana. I have to remember when someone is, in a sense brainwashed to believe the sky is a different color, it is hard for them to realize the lies they were fed regarding her brother were just that, lies. The struggle goes on and on forever. She has been forced to put away her heritage, her beliefs and her true personality, and to become a creature of her relatives making. It was hard to struggle through that and for her to grow up and not be afraid of her shadow and to thaw out the icy wall of control she lives behind.

Very interesting writing with added sub-plot of second love affair. Great hiding of suspect unto the tie of the major event. Never expected suspect with all the intrigue within the storey

over this book, start to finish! Seeing the rebuilding of a broken family put themselves back together step by painful step! Lots of sadness tho, but a realistic story. I wasn't sure who the bad guy was till it was exposed! Good mystery shot..yep. A winner here.

Nora Roberts is one of a kind. Blending family dynamics, romance and mystery into a beautifully written book, is to me a gift from the creative mind of a truly talented author.

I read The Last Templar before this book. It was better written. This was surprising to me as it was written earlier. One would expect a progression to better writing. This was not the case. Khoury's story line is interesting and his flashbacks to ancient times are the best part of his books, so far. His writing in this novel is very uneven. At times it borders on amateurish. Some of his word choics simply do not fit, but by far the most annoying aspect of his writing is the super long run on sentences lasting up to thirteen lines long of print. Who edited this book? Wake up editor! One has already forgotten the meaning by the time he gets to the end of the sentence. He buries the point being made at the end, at which time one has to reread the sentence.Mr. Khoury, please take this as an encouragement to tighten up your writing. You have good stories and meaningful content. The latter does much to redeem your novels.

I love a who done it when I don't want it to be the person the hints lead to, but I can't figure out who else it should be. I could not put it down!

This book is a re-release of two of Nora Roberts books featuring the MacGregor family from 1985. Whoa, it's been a long time since I read anything written this long ago. I forgot how corny some of the romantic scenes could be. Between that and societal changes...lots of sexual harassment, smoking indoors, mentions of typewriters and telegrams. It was kind of fun to revisit this older style of romance. And quite honestly, beyond the corniness and the cliche conflicts, I did enjoy reading both of these stories.Playing the OddsSerena & JustinStory Overview:Serena MacGregor had been looking for a little independence and some much-needed adventure, but Justin Blade was not what she had in mind. The stakes were high, and Justin was betting on changing Serena's mind about him. But when this fiery heiress upped the ante on the cool Comanche gambler, steamy didn't begin to describe the results....My Rating: B-My Review:Daniel MacGregor is the patriarch of the MacGregor clan. He has mentored Justin for 10 years, but in that time, Justin has never met Rena, Daniel's daughter. When Daniel convinces Justin to take a vacation cruise, Justin doesn't think anything of it. As a professional gambler, he is immediately enchanted with a female dealer who works on the ship, Serena. Unbeknownst to either of them, they have been set up by Daniel to meet.In this book, the cruise ship made the book. I am not a huge fan of books based around gambling, but I loved the ambience provided by the ship and the exotic ports of call. I enjoyed the MacGregor family clan and the story line of Justin's past. These books are based around family and the family dynamics were defined and highlighted very early so that you realize how important the family ties are to the overall story. I liked that. Justin had a HORRIBLE childhood, so that makes it so that he appreciates the MacGregors all that much more.Overall, this was entertaining. I was just sad at how dated it did feel. The cheeseball lines during the sex scenes did provide some fun giggles though....Tempting FateCaine & DianaStory Overview:Attorney Caine MacGregor had a reputation for being a demon in and out of the courtroom. The dashing young attorney rarely met a case--or a woman--he couldn't win. But Diana Blade was no ordinary lady. Caine yearned to break down her icy wall of control and release the passionate woman within. He might be able to convince Diana to form a business partnership, but could he entice her to risk everything for the love of a MacGregor?My Rating: BMy Review:For me, this book seemed to have a bit more depth than the first. Diana is Hunter's (hero from the first book) younger sister. When their parents died, he abandoned her to a harsh, strict aunt and Diana basically grew up without knowing any love in her life. That has left her with HUGE scars when it comes to relationships. She has been ruled with an iron fist by her aunt her entire life. Now that she is out on her own and able to make her own decisions, she NEVER plans to open herself up to someone else. She never wants to give anyone else ANY power over her life OR the ability to leave and hurt her like her entire family did when she was little.The flip side of that is Caine who has always had a very easy time with women, so when Diana turns him down, he is hurt and devastated. There is a lot of emotion in this book. And again, this is a book that shows its era because there is a LOT of sexual harassment in it too. One minute Caine will be attacking Diana and telling her that he is going to bed her...it's a guarantee. Then the next minute, he's trying to forge a work relationship. It was almost funny how unacceptable that would be now. No woman in her right mind would give a guy like that ANY leeway in her life....personal or professional. We have definitely changed in the last 27 years.

I purchased this book ages ago and have read it at least 3 times. Loved the suspense! Was kept guessing until almost the end. The character development is good and believable as all the family members reacted different to the disappearance of the mother based on their ages at the time she left. Highly recommend.

These recipes are simple and delicious, and perfect for meal prepping. It includes a diverse set of recipes and the cooking instructions for preparing those yummy dishes. Nutrition information is also provided for every recipe as well. I liked this book and I'm glad to have it on my Kindle to use when I need it. I recommend this book for those who want to try Smart Keto Meal Prep.
